MIRACLE OF MODERN SCIENCE: John Storm cures Pope Peter Benedict of stage 4 lung cancer, using a CRISPR virus

The Pope is the leader of the Catholic Church in Rome. He lives and operates from the Vatican City, within a defined and fortified area in Italy, located close to the River Tiber.

Pope Peter Benedict is a fictional character in the John Storm adventure series. He is a saintly man, deeply troubled by the state of the planet, unbalanced as it is with mankind's over exploitation of Earth.

The Catholic Church has been moving with the times. Reconciling the holy scriptures with advances in science. Without which, there has and will continue to be a move away from the faith - as technology widens the gap between spiritualism and the laws of physics. Corruption in politics and within the heads of state, is another issue that the new church under proactive guidance, is keen to see brought under control. A particular quest for Pope Peter. As is world peace and tackling global warming, in a highly unstable political arena, borne of spin and disinformation, for profit, and never ending kleptocratic empire building. Qualities that work against the interests of the global population.

The Father of Rome has made many enemies within and outside the church, for wanting to be more active on the world stage. But the Supreme Bishop has also developed reliable contacts in several influential organizations, in which he cannot be seen to be taking an active role. It is difficult for a man in his position to know who to trust. Even the United Nations is suspect, though for the most part with good intentions. The fact Pope Peter Benedict has faced cancer, changes his perspective and agenda.

The Pontiff is opposed to all forms of national and international aggression.

Pope Peter's doctoral thesis was on the reconciliation of religions through timelines and interpretation, which made him a target for rigid purists, but widely accepted in the outside world. HAL AI uses some of the research of the Pontiff, to gain a broader understanding of ancient data that is disconnected in the extreme in time and geographical location, making in nigh on impossible for human scholars to join the dots.

POPE BENEDICT'S DOCTORAL THESIS: Reconciliation of Religions Through Timelines and Interpretation

1. Temporal Reframing: Cleopatra’s curse was against Imperial Ancient Rome, not Vatican Rome, allowing a clear historical distinction. Modern Rome could even be framed as an evolved spiritual legacy—one that eventually became receptive to wisdom from many traditions, including Egyptian.

“The sins of empire are not the sins of faith. Time redeemed what conquest corrupted.”

2. Comparative Theology as Mystery: Position Cleopatra’s return not as a challenge to Christ’s resurrection, but as another manifestation of divine mystery. Some cardinals might argue that:

- Egyptian beliefs prefigure certain Christian themes (rebirth, judgment, afterlife).

- Her rebirth could be a “testament to the Creator’s diversity”—God manifesting in many cultures.

- Isis and Mary could be likened as maternal symbols of transcendence.

- This allows the Vatican to engage, not oppose, the spiritual ramifications.

The CRISPR Miracle: Science as Divine Instrument

John Storm’s genetically tailored cure for the Pope is ripe for theological reflection. Is this science, or is this grace through man’s stewardship?

The Pope interprets this as God working through modern tools—extending divine mercy via the ingenuity gifted to mankind.

Quote-worthy moment: “What is a miracle, if not a mystery written in the code of life itself?”

Validation Through Dialogue and Symbolism

As a  Vatican scholar secretly fascinated by Egyptian theology, he finds echoes of Christian morality in ancient texts.

Another Egyptian priestly character marvels at John Storm’s reverence for life and purity of motive—despite being from a different lineage.

In a symbolic moment: The Pope and the living descendant of Cleopatra stand side by side before an ancient altar, exchanging relics—Christian rosary and an ankh—both representing eternal life.
